Pullman Bali offers serenity, tranquility and a relaxed atmosphere
Pullman Bali offers serenity, tranquility and a relaxed atmosphere. True, while staying in a place like Bali where there is so much to do, one doesn’t spend much time in their hotel. But if you are like us, when we travel we like to go the whole nine yards with comfort and the Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana pulled out all stops to ensure our expectations and comfort levels were met.
This hotel is located just 20 minutes from the airport with many points of interest within a short walking distance. If you want to venture further everything is easy to go by taxi with the hotel being located at the end of the one way strip that congests up a lot of traffic through Kuta.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a traditional Balinese smile the people of Bali are famous for and provided a refreshing drink and cold, scented towels to freshen up. Despite any hustle and bustle outside, the five star status asserts itself immediately. Walking into the hotel you escape the outside noise, it is serene, tranquil, classy and the décor exceptionally stunning. The relaxed atmosphere is supported by the ever present smile on the face of all the staff who immediately assist with our luggage from the car.
This upscale beach front resort is uber chic and in a great location. Ideally set in laid back Legian, between the hustle of Kuta and the trendy Seminyak, the famous Kuta beach is just a few steps away and we later learnt it could be seen clearly from our balcony with no obstruction whatsoever.
The enormous, stylish lobby has floors so clean and shiny you can see your reflection in them. We notice art and photography on the walls, in tune with the Bali feel. From the open, breezy lobby is the bar, ice cream bar, lifts, etc.
The check in was fast and we were met by Naren who would later be taking us on a hotel tour. He told us about the complimentary photo shoot and asked us to make a booking to confirm with Holipic Holiday Imaging at the photo counter. What a lovely way to take some holiday memories home. When we made the booking we were given the choice of having our photos taken in the beautiful hotel grounds, the hotel temple or across at Kuta beach.
We are taken to our room and our luggage soon follows. The generous sized room is one of 351 within the hotel complex. The rooms are serviced daily and there is a turn down service where they re-stock the mini-bar and top up the complimentary 4 bottles of water daily. Ours is a very spacious Premium Deluxe room on the 5th floor with ocean views.
The cleanliness of our room is instantly noticed and a welcome fruit basket and flowers in the room is a simple, yet thoughtful gesture. The décor is really tasteful, warm, contemporary, chic with the standout a huge king sized bed with crisp, cotton linen and big fluffly pillows. We have a table, two comfy chairs, sideboard with fridge and wall mounted TV with in-house movie channels.
The bathroom is really well appointed with separate bath, toilet and good sized shower with wardrobe with robes, slippers, beach bag, even a gym set and yoga mat. The balcony beckons with stunning views overlooking the ocean. We open the door and are amazed inside it is so quiet, yet outside there is the fumes and noise from the endless traffic which passes directly along Jalan Pantai Kuta, turning right into Jalan Melasti. We have a few chairs, table and a drying rack on our balcony and an amazing view. We can see the planes land to our left, across the laid back Legian beach, right through to stylish Seminyak. There is a lot of commotion outside but you definitely escape the outside noise once back inside the relaxing room.
Met by Naren from the Pullman Event Team we were taken on a guided tour of the hotel. The hotel is inspired by the Frangipani flower, evoking a sense of serenity, blending the busy Kuta Beach, traditional ambience and modern design. Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana has all the great facilities like well-equipped gym, an outstanding spa, shop, rooftop infinity pool, unmissable restaurant and trendy rooftop bar that you’d not only expect from a five star hotel, but make it hard to want to leave the hotel.
We are guided around and shown the meeting rooms, ballroom and Chill Out space. Have an early arrival or late departure? No problem at Pullman as they have Connectivity, with an arrival area for tour groups, a lounge where guests can shower and relax if they arrive earlier than check in time, or if they have a late night flight. There are computer facilities, relaxation lounges, etc. making this a very comfortable and relaxing area.
A strategic feature of the hotel is the breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean from the rooftop infinity pool. Within the beautifully maintained grounds is another large pool, with a designated pool suitable for children.
In the grounds with a roof top garden is the Tjakra-7 spa where you can be pampered with massage facilities and hydrotherapy treatments. To re-energise and rejuvenate 24/7 during your stay is a gym equipped with the latest cardiovascular and training machines.
The hotel offers indoor, outdoor and in-room dining options. The Deli has all day dining ranging from a breakfast buffet, great lunch options, contemporary Balinese dishes or fine dining from an international menu. Outdoor dining ranges from Balinese tranquillity overlooking one of the relaxing pools or lush garden areas. A Balinese afternoon tea of ‘Satay by the Pool’ or poolside snacks can be enjoyed with sunset cocktails whilst listening to a live band at the Pool Bar at Pullman’s famous rooftop infinity pool.
For some relaxed, roadside food is Bites on Wheels, a retro, old-school combi converted to a street front kitchen cooking up the best Hot Dogs. Themed all you can eat buffet nights are held, like the legendary Babi Guling (suckling pig) with all the trimmings, a Jimbaran Beach styled Seafood BBQ, an Aussie style BBQ and Satay night. Outside, in the evenings near the beach temple gates is a man grilling corncobs. It’s a great opportunity to relish every bite and munch on one while sitting and watching the famous sunset.
Enticing us from the cozy bed each morning was the temptation of a cooked buffet breakfast with a mouth-watering selection of Asian and European dishes. Served from 6.30-10.30 daily the veritable feast caters for a diverse range of tastes to suit the varied cultural patronage. A chef cooks eggs, waffles and pancakes to order, there is a massive selection of tasty pastries, a soup station, cereal station, wide variety of fresh fruits, etc.
L Bar is off the main foyer where you can sample local or worldwide wines, imaginative cocktails or gourmet coffee and teas. There’s also a lovely Ice Cream/Cake bar to enjoy a cup of coffee and a fresh cake or tart or one of the many flavours of sorbet or gelato.
Not only are children 2-12 free (if staying in the parents’ room), they have their own Kids Club. Adults can relax in peace, workout in the gym or indulge at the spa knowing there is plenty to keep their children occupied. This is a great area decorated and equipped exclusively for children aged 4-12. A range of activities are organised like postcard making, nail painting, King & Queen dressup, and arts and craft.
The hotel also offers entertainment like movie nights, fire dance shows and cooking or yoga classes. Imagine yoga by the rooftop pool in the morning and sunset cocktails in the evening.
Tucked conveniently towards the end of Kuta the hotel is near the Merta Nadi Art Market on Jalan Melasti and many great restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away. Nearby, within easy walking distance is Padma Street, Garlic Lane and Beachwalk Mall with countless shopping opportunities.
The Pullman was very clean and tidy and extremely welcoming. The grounds are green and lush and for some Balinese culture there is a temple. Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana truly epitomises the best of Balinese hospitality with chic, urban style. Pullman is a large resort with lots of open space and a nice resort for couple and families alike. It is in a good location which is very central for exploring Kuta, Legian and Seminyak.
The mention of Bali evokes thoughts of a paradise and that is how we felt at Pullman. We loved the style, the service and the warm welcoming smiles that has made Bali famous. Pullman offers serenity, tranquility and a relaxed atmosphere… with a smile.
Would you enjoy the luxury of a stay at Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana? When was the last time you swung on a hammock under palm trees?

Hi Lyn,
Nice post, really loved it! I visited Bali a couple of years back and I must admit it’s a beautiful place. I did not stay at Pullman but I have bookmarked this post just to make sure that during my next visit to Bali, I try out their services.
Thanks again for sharing your experience!
So nice to see the luxurious side to Bali! We are currently here for two months on a shoestring budget, and loving it. We keep seeing stunning hotels like the Pullman; perhaps one day we’ll visit! The rooms are huge and I love how much space in the lobby there is, that is always a benefit when visiting with kids as they’re not so cramped up. Hope you had a wonderful stay, perhaps we will bump into you at some point in Sanur!
Looks like a delightful – and tranquil – stay. I especially like the rooftop bar! Maybe someday I’ll make it to Bali!
