Thank you, a Premio Dardos Award

Thanks to Samiya from Selims Raasta I’m feeling on top of the world this week. We have just received our second award within a week and were thrilled and surprised to read a message from Samiya:

“Lyn, I have nominated you for the Premio Dardos Award, I find your blog really enjoyable, love hearing about your personal travel adventures and stories – Samiya”

So first thing was to see what this Premio Dardos Award was.  Premio Dards means “Prize Darts” in Spanish.  We learnt this award is for recognition of cultural, ethical, literary and personal values in the form of creative and original writing.

Attached to this are some rules:

• Accept the award, post it on your blog along with the name of the person who granted the award and link to that blog.
• Include the image of the “Premio Dardos”in the post
• Pass on the award to 15 blogs that are worthy of acknowledgement

We appreciate so much Samiya’s thoughtfulness in nominating us for this award, it is such a great and unexpected honour. It bought a smile to my face to read Samiya say “this is how I see Ashique and I travelling years from now. Lyn shows that it is possible to enjoy couple time in mature years and still be actively cruising and enjoying life and travels!” We don’t feel as though our contributions have been any greater than many other great travel blogs, written by a great group of people who each deserve recognition for their work.  This award makes me admire the blogging community even more in how they all support and inspire newer bloggers like ourselves. We are sure the coming year will be enjoyable and challenging and we’ll do our best to uphold the standard this award represents.

We feel travel is like knowledge; it should be shared with those who have a passion for it. This award is the same and we would like to recognize the following bloggers who inspired us with their passion and creativity. Each of the following have their own unique stories created from their passions for culture, food, the great outdoors, solo travel, sustainable travel, collaborations, linkups, but all have one thing in common.
